Will the cameras disturb the audience?

No. Not unless you want them to.

Yep, not unless you want them to. On almost all show filmings, we try to keep out of the audiences way, so as not to disturb their experience. We do this by using dim screens on our cameras, and positioning ourselves in back rows and corners.

However, much more interesting shots can be achieved by disrupting the audience. We can get shots within the crowd, on-stage, roaming through the aisles. All these positions can distract from the live experience, so we think it’s only fair to occupy these positions when the audience has been warned in advance.

These shots that are in the audiences attention create unique and interesting shots, which suits them for high-end filmings, like comedy specials. Usually for these shows the audience is made aware in advance of the show, and we find that they couldn’t be kinder to our camerapeople.
