Vertical Video is the standard format for videos to be viewed on social media. This page gives a quick overview on what vertical video is, how to shoot it and what to know

Vertical video is the go-to when posting videos, clips and ads on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook. Vertical video receives up to 130% more engagement than their horizontal equivalents.
Vertical video is any video which is taller than it is wide, compared to standard video which is wider than it is tall. Sometimes vertical video is referred to as 9:16, the ratio of the width to the height, and the opposite of the typical 16:9. The standard resolution for vertical video is 1080x1920, which is vertical high definition. Below this resolution the quality is low enough to become noticeable to an audience.
In order to achieve this 1080x1920 resolution, vertical video can only be cut out from 4K footage, which has a resolution of 3840x2160. If one was to use HD video (1920x1080) to cut out vertical clips, the maximum possible resolution would be 607x1080, a low quality video noticeable to a viewer.
