Should I shoot with One or Multiple cameras?
We can capture most shows with a single camera but multicamera
footage is more engaging, more aesthetic, and covers more angles.
Our archive films can be shot with either a single static camera, or multiple cameras which track the action on stage. Our single camera archive films are perfect as a record for shows with simple staging, low action and small venues.
Certain productions require multiple cameras just to capture all the action, for example for shows performed in the round, or in thrust, where the action can be projected in 360 degrees. By including extra cameras, more angles can be covered so that no action is missed.
Any productions hoping to use their footage for promotional material should also consider a multicamera shoot. When cutting a trailer, editing between shots from the same angle can become dull and uninteresting. Because the footage from multicamera shoots is tracking action, the shots are tighter, more motile and more visually unique - perfect for trailers.
Finally, any production who is filming their show with the hopes of presenting the footage to new audiences or development opportunities, should consider a multicamera production. A multicamera archive film is more engaging to an audience than static footage, as the cuts between angles and the motion of the tracking cameras keeps the action flowing. When a performance is captured on film, we can't bring the energy of the room with it, so footage from a live show has to work harder to engage and impress it's audiences.
